Bahasa Gaul = bahasa remaja
Bahasa gaul refers to slang language, but most often is considered "teen-speak". In Australia, you might be using terms such as 'YOLO', 'swag', etc. that your parents/teachers have absolutely NO IDEA what you are talking about unless you explain it them. It's the same in Indonesia with bahasa gaul. This language is VERY informal (see Formal versus Informal page) - so make sure you don't use it with the wrong audience.
Below is some examples of typical slang, frequently used in cities and possibly throughout Indonesia. However, the best way to learn slang is by chatting to people your own age!
